Experience the new BMW 5 Series

Take the driver's seat

Now in its seventh generation, the BMW 5 Series has redefined what it means to take the lead - impressing the world with stylish athleticism, all-round competency and performance that simply gets better with every introduction.

With the new BMW 5 Series sedan, BMW takes it even further by continuing the automotive maker's momentum of success and drives its direction for the future of mobility.

The question is:
Will you join BMW as a leader who drives change?

Traits of the new 5

In Malaysia, this momentum is mirrored as the latest variants of the BMW 5 Series sedan - the BMW 530e M Sport and BMW 530i M Sport - are proudly assembled locally, replete with the latest-generation driver assistance systems and a redesigned appearance.

Be it electric or fuel, they embody change with future-oriented design, next-level performance and leading BMW technologies.

Best of power, technology and style: The BMW 530i M Sport delivers 252hp and 350Nm of torque, with exciting technological advancements such as the iconic BMW Laserlight, BMW Head-Up Display and enhanced Gesture Control for an all-round pulse-pounding drive.

An ambitious statement: Drive with confidence with the new BMW 5 Series sedan’s larger kidney grille, BMW's hallmark of change that has been the face of almost every BMW vehicle ever produced for nearly 90 years. The facelifted design also features slimmer headlights with a new daytime running light design and for the first time, directly integrates the light source into the taillight’s  outermost  layer for a maximised 3D effect.

The latest innovations: A fully-digital cockpit running on the latest BMW Operating System 7 connects you to a host of driving tech such as the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant with Parking Assistant Plus - all extra clear on the larger 12.3” touchscreen control display.

Driven by performance: Combining a powerful BMW TwinPower Turbo engine with eDrive technology, the BMW 530e M Sport is a force of nature that effortlessly unleashes 292hp and 420Nm of torque and boasts up to 67km* of pure-electric range.

Beyond physical mobility: BMW’s technological advancements - via the new My BMW App that facilitates access to a range of remote services, safety features and up-to-date information at your fingertips - will change the way you interact with the new 5 Series.

Intelligence. Innovation. Ambition. Leadership.

In a world driven by change,
be the one who drives it.

In conjunction with the launch of its new 5 Series business sedan - set to take automotive design, performance and intelligence to new frontiers - BMW is demonstrating its role in driving the future of electromobility with The Exchange.

A thought leadership initiative, The ExChange is an exciting five-part series featuring leaders sharing their experiences and lessons on business approaches and driving change, especially in the time of Covid-19.

Nadiah Wan

Group CEO, TMC Life Sciences Bhd
CEO, Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara

When it comes to the pandemic, it is undeniable that hospitals - along with their team of doctors and nurses - play an essential role in combating the novel coronavirus.

Although she had been on holiday in Italy at the time, it was Nadiah's quick thinking that ensured the hospital could function with as little disruption as possible - thus doing her part to save countless lives.

"What we had to do was think innovatively about how we would deal with all these changes, while ensuring the safety of our patients and employees remained a priority.

"[When on holiday,] I was dealing with reviewing all the new procedures and policies. A lot of decisions had to be made on the fly.

"That was when we really had to, very quickly, bring the organisation online as a lot of people weren’t allowed to come to the office during the first lockdown.

"It was a game-changing way of looking at the world."

Datuk Chevy Beh

Founder, BookDoc

Being innovative and seeking solutions to meet unaddressed needs is in BookDoc's DNA. Thus, when the pandemic hit, Beh was very quickly able to put processes in place to ensure business continuity.

For him, this included breaking down issues into key areas to be addressed, such as reassuring staff who came back to work and shifting medical tourism onto its digital platform in the form of tele-consultation.

"During the toughest times, the employer has to come out and say, 'Despite the macroeconomic factors and the headwinds against us, we will do our best to help you' - that is what we did [and it helped reassure our staff to continue growing with us].

"Sustain your workforce, sustain your customer service, sustain your technology so that you're always at the forefront [of competition] - I would define that as sustainability.

"But to get there, the leader has to be very strong. He or she must be a visionary pointing them (the staff) in the right direction."

Gavin Liew

Founder and Managing Partner, The Makeover Guys

Covid-19 has undoubtedly been tough on the property market and by extension, on businesses like Liew's, which provides investment property solutions to help property owners spiff up their homes to maximise investment returns.

But Liew does not let the pandemic get in the way of doing business. For him, the key is to utilise existing resources to maximise impact.

"Use whatever tools you have, but yes, you need to be present. Leaders now have to work harder to engage their teams.

"There is also the need for constant assurance, updates and communication of priorities.

"Yes, it may be harder, but I guess leaders these days have to do more. After all, no one can perform well if they feel insecure."

Datuk Hajeedar Abdul Majid

Founder, Hajeedar and Associates

While one might be faulted for thinking that a classically trained architect would not be able to adapt to the rapid changes of today's world, nothing can be further from the truth - as proven by Hajeedar.

Throughout his career as a prominent architect and conservation movement pioneer, a key lesson he pragmatically embraces is that change is a constant.

To be a leader, however, takes more than grit. It takes a good communicator to maintain a strong but effective leadership.

"Constant contact is key; the need to engage and so that they are aware you are 'around'.

"The only difference these days is less physical contact. But you can and must still communicate!

"The questions we should ask ourselves are: How relevant are we still? How productive can we be?

"After all, you have to adjust with the times or risk being left behind."
